The Kamina Old Boys and Girls Association (KOBGA), on Thursday donated 50 dual desk furniture to the Kamina Barracks Basic School.
As part of the donation, the association decided to include Veronica buckets with stands, hand sanitizers, tissue papers, Liquid soap as well as disposable face masks. This is to support the school’s (Alma Mater) fight against COVID-19.
In a brief handing over ceremony, the education officer receiving the items on behalf of the school thanked KOBGA for the kind gesture and stated that they will go a long way to help the school because the successes of the school has increased enrolment hence putting a lot of pressure on administration.
“With this furniture, it will help ease congestion in the classroom”. He added.
He used the opportunity to also appeal to benevolent persons to support the school to put up more classrooms and revamp the school’s computer lab.
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) through their chairman pledged to take very good care of the furniture and all items donated to the school.
President of the Kamina Old Boys and Girls Association (KOBGA) Dr. Evans Darkwah stressed that this donation is done in the light of the current happenings and the issues that Ghana and the world at large is faced with, that is, Covid-19. So the donation in summary is aimed at easing congestion and also assist with the Covid-19 protocols.
“This is not a one-off thing. There will be more and as we speak another 50 set of furniture are under construction for the school” He added.
